I bring nineteen years of experience as an educator, facilitator, non- profit Director, policy analyst, and organizer. The daughter of Mexican immigrants, I grew up in South Central Los Angeles. I started my career as an Assistant Director of Admission for my alma mater, Yale University. I taught middle school Social Studies and English as a Second Language (ESL) in the Los Angeles Unified School District, launched parent-organizing efforts across the state of California , and served as the Director of Programs for a community and youth center in South Central Los Angeles. All of these roles required strong management, facilitation, and strategic planning skills. During my graduate studies, I supported citywide initiatives and worked alongside Mayor’s Office staff in the cities of Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. That work involved convening community members, non-profit leaders, philanthropic partners, and public officials. As a consultant, I have worked with over thirty organizations to strengthen their programs, launch new initiatives, and prepare for substantial growth.
